# Turns Not Minutes

Time according to OD&D
• A turn is the time it takes to move twice (120 feet), to rest, or to search a 10-foot section of wall.
• A round is a minute’s worth of combined attack, maneuver, and defense.

Time according to Holmes
• A round is the time it takes one person to deliver 2 dagger blows or one blow of a normal weapon. It is also half of the time it takes to deliver one blow with a heavy weapon.
• A turn is the time it takes one person to search a 10-foot section of wall. 
• A day is the length of time it takes to travel the number of miles the party can travel and rest in.

Time according to Moldvay
• A turn is the time required to search a 10'x10' area, for a thief to check an item for traps, to rest, or to load a bag with treasure.
